Many people are trying to get the credit of the HEXP run.If HEXP failed produce good results as at 31/03/16 we would not be able to see a HEXP journey today.

I expect DPL to produce good results for June Q16 on back of super results they produced for Mar Q16. If all goes well we can expect DPL share to perform well in coming months provided if they produce good results and due to its reduction of debts and present cash position of the company.

Journey of DPL share during last 1 Year....

A - DPL was trading around Rs15 levels.

B - Company announced a rights issue @Rs8.0/share and share price came down to Rs8.0 levels. 90.3mn new shares were issued at the rights issue. Top 5 share holders ownes more than 80% of the company.

C - Share price stabilized @Rs8.0 levels.

D - Due to country rating down grading and the CGT issue ASI came down to 5800 levels and DPL came down to Rs6.0 levels. Good support received for the share at Rs6.0 levels and lots of buying came from company directors as well.

E - Share price again started to climb up and hit high price of Rs8.70 levels. DPL found Rs8.0 support levels.

F - Again due to ASI correction and the CGT fear DPL share price has come down to Rs6.90 levels and good support found at Rs7.0 levels.

G - DPL is now trading at Rs7.70 levels. If Company managed to deliver better than expected results for June Q16 no body can prevent share price appreciation for DPL.

Due to currency devaluations, reduction of liabilities, improved oversease sales, cash received from rights issue DPL should produce good results for the June Q16.

Hope for the best.

Very good recovery YoY.

Slight drop in profits observed on QoQ basis. However June Q being the most challenging Q, DPL performances can be rated as encouraging.

It is once again confirmed now the DPL is in a correct recovery path.

Dankotuwa Porcelain wins award at the European Product Design Awards 2017

Dankotuwa Porcelain PLC (DPL), Sri Lanka’s premier manufacturer of Porcelain products announced that the company was adjudged winner of the Silver award in the catering products/table top specialties category at the prestigious European Product Design Awards (ePDA) 2017. Awarded by the European Union, this accolade is one of many that the company has won over its 34 years of rich heritage and plating of gastronomy in Sri Lanka and over the world.

The winning entry at the ePDA awards 2017 is an in-glaze design which is produced especially for the UK market. The special technique used is called the ‘embossed reactive process’ which gives the product an embossed effect and at the same time, it has the same texture as a hand feel product. This special product, manufactured and designed by Dakotuwa Procelain is safe for all aspects of dining as the raw materials used are lead and cadmium safe (based on international standards such as ISO 6486 – 1:1999, ISO 6486 – 2:1999, ASTM C 738 – 94 (Re-approved 2016) and California Proposition 65 Compliance). The company maintains high product quality standards; as a result Dankotuwa Porcelain – renown for pure white ware products, can be used in a microwave or a dishwasher.

look for deep analysis ...... check the export market segment during 2005-2010 (when GSP was their) and after we lost it.
do not blindly follow GSP......
ask questions and be fully informed and invest.

i think so..... i did a check on their annual report ten year summary.... not able to see anything interesting during that period as well.
so need somebody to do a deep analysis.
price has moved from bottom to 8+ a 60% appreciation... so i feel some speculation.....
be wary without seeing real improvement one should not jump into DPL. :-B

those invested with DPL can share their views as to why the investment was made...

was it due to technical reason etc....

I did invest before xd mainly due to the heavy beating but got rid of this between 7 to 7.5. The current trading seems to be speculation driven based on GSP+

SH was writing positively on DPL but can't be seen now.

Anyway I will look into it and produce some analysis. As far as their financials I recall they produced good result for the last quarter. Based on that the current price move can be attributable to a speculation of another good quarter ended 31st March 2017.

DPL last 3 quarter performance. They were able to report marginal profits. Is the current price movement driven by a speculation of a result similar to Q2 in Q4 or benefits to be accrued on GSP+?
