This is a small analytical research based on the quarterly reports/annual reports available on CSE.LK website.

SFIN could be heading to record (Projected) over 3.2 Billion rupees in topline for 12M ending 31.03.2018, with majority slice of revenues contributing through Financial leases (FL).

Whilst Revenue segment in FL has been around 70%, Loans & Advances (L&A) segment has shown growth surpassing Hire Purchases (HP) to reach over 20% and become 2nd in revenue segments after FL, a place that was previously held by HP.

I also see tremendous growth to come going forward from L&A, and as of 31.03.18, 25% of net earnings could be coming from L&A, and revenue growth from L&A to record just under 50% YoY being highest growth compared to FL,HP and Others.

Margins to improve in L&A and to be better off than Financial Leases.

Above are some significant ratios calculated for the benefit of members.

Times Interest earned ratio- Has dropped from 2 to 1.7 times (The times interest earned ratio, sometimes called the interest coverage ratio, is a coverage ratio that measures the proportionate amount of income that can be used to cover interest expenses in the future)

Debt to Equity Ratio-(The debt to equity ratio is a financial, liquidity ratio that compares a company’s total debt to total equity. The debt to equity ratio shows the percentage of company financing that comes from creditors and investors. A higher debt to equity ratio indicates that more creditor financing (bank loans) is used than investor financing (shareholders).

Equity Ratio- A higher favorable ratio is better SFIN sees a slight drop YoY (The equity ratio is an investment leverage or solvency ratio that measures the amount of assets that are financed by owners’ investments by comparing the total equity in the company to the total assets)

Debt Ratio-Debt ratio is a solvency ratio that measures a firm’s total liabilities as a percentage of its total assets. In a sense, the debt ratio shows a company’s ability to pay off its liabilities with its assets. In other words, this shows how many assets the company must sell in order to pay off all of its liabilities.

SFINs PER has been trading under the shade of 8 multiples over the recent years, and i expect Y/E EPS to be between 2.5-3Rs and In periods to come SFIN could trade above CMP 16Rs-15.5Rs toward touching distance of 20Rs.

That could be gains little over 20%.

Recently concluded RI would pave for consistency in the minds of Retailers to accumulate over the next coming quarters, and possibly to see a final dividends of between 25c-50c max.

Importantly, the Average cost of funding of SFIN has comedown to single digit as of 31.12.17 9M ending towards 8.5% compared to 13.5% in 2014 and 10.5% in 2017. This is in line with most NBFIs and a distinct advantage.

I have not updated the 2018 figures, which will be done in due course upon available resources.

please do further investigations on SFIN before jumping to conclusions, and take the right decision.

Good luck.

performance of many finance institutions have been very encouraging..... one of the safest sectors alongside banks .....more growth could be expected in my view with lending rates expected to drop in 2018 onwards.
