Letters, red notices are sent as a matter of routine by most regulators. The officials have very little understanding of principles /governance / law. Most companies now have well structured standard letters. Even a cut and past job is sufficient.
Let the sleeping dog RIP. Market has enough maturity to manage it's self.

just hold on to your most valued stocks.... tectonic plates of CSE is changing in favour...... it might take a little while. please refer to my above chart for the targets 6800 and 7200/7000 levels.

forget whats happening else where. as there is shit of a support from the current administration. things are unusually slow to get things done. but they are happening.

we should rally among ourselves to get the best seat possible to witness the next phase of cse, we saw it in 2009 and its time we give a bit more time to blossom our investments.

this government had a good opportunity in 2015, but mucked it up and still mucking it up royally now buy the top man, and 2nd man whom we thought would do a better job, is also equally mucking it up.

both in mucking contest to find out who is the best at mucking things up.

National Policies and Economic Affairs State Minister Dr. Harsha de Silva severely criticised the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for its failure to bring to book any of the persons responsible for fraudulent practices at the Colombo Stock Exchange over the past years. The State Minister taking part in the Parliamentary debate on the Demutualization of the Colombo Stock Exchange Bill on Wednesday, pointed out that the SEC has not acted against anybody who engaged in “pump and dump” schemes at the stock market.

“When I was an Opposition Member of Parliament, I persistently spoke in this Parliament as to how the Stock Market was being manipulated through pump and dump schemes. I exposed how the shares bought at Rs 35 were sold to the EPF after boosting the price to Rs 200."but you seem to dumbfounded on the mahabanku dawal mankolle"

“Now where are those rogues? "rogues in your regime pocket"

Not a single culprit has been brought to book. "this shows your incompetence"

The investigations were not completed,” Dr de Silva noted.

De Silva said an invisible hand was behind the inaction of SEC. “If those currently holding office at the Commission are unable to complete those investigations and prosecute the culprits, we need to replace them with those who can. We must take legal action against those culprits within the remaining span of this Government,” he stressed. De Silva also castigated the SEC for trying to interfere on Government affairs by using an Asian Development Bank Consultant.

“We are bringing legislation to demutualize the stock exchange, but we will do it on our own terms, "take another 2 years from us and we will throw you to the trash bin"not on the terms of some consultant who is sitting at the SEC and telling the Government how to run our affairs,” he said.

In an Extraordinary Gazette issued today, President Maithripala Sirisena moved two key institutions; the Central Bank and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC); which were under the National Policies and Economic Affairs Ministry headed by the Prime Minister, back to the Finance Ministry.

The Gazette Notice, which bears No: 2064/26 said the two institutions would be immediately placed under the Minister of Finance and Mass Media.

"Formulation of monetary policies and macroeconomic management in coordination with the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and monitoring revenue collection and expenditure would be carried out by the Finance Ministry," the notice said.

Meanwhile, a number of items including the Monetary Law Act, Public Utilities Commission, Exchange Control Act, Securities and Exchange Commission, National Youth Council, Youth Corps Act, Children and Young Persons Ordinance and the National Insurance Trust Fund Act had been omitted from the Prime Minister's Ministry.

The Monetary Law Act and the Securities and Exchange Commission had been placed under the Finance Ministry.

But at the same time, we shouldn't be overly concerned with the ASI. It is just a number and at times dose not reflect the sentiment of the market.
