We could expect something like WATA's split I think. Sum total value of all listed entities could be more than post split than pre-split stand alone LGL. Make lot of sense to hold.

LGL informed about their new structure a few months back.

Following link was the last communication on the details and it carries the new structure towards the end :
https://cdn.cse.lk/cmt/uploadAnnounceFi ... 4_1020.pdf

So as per that, end of last month was the cut over date. People who held LGL shares will get the same amount of shares (free) in the 3 new companies that will be introduced to the CSE in the coming weeks.
Current LGL share represents the share price for their Energy business, Maritime and Property businesses.

In that manner if you do the numbers, today's price drop is insignificant and the holders last week would be quite happy with the situation today.

(Holding - pls DYODD)

Any news about their Hambanthota gas storage project ? According to the earlier plan, they suppose to start operation by mid 2018. Last news I heard was some of the construction work kept on hold. If you have any updates please share.

Can we see some more downward price adjustment as the pre-splitting price was an inflated one :-?

BW, why do you say pre splitting price was an inflated one?

Yes. Price drop should be more than what we see at the moment. It seems that some party or group pushing and keeping the price level. May be they wanted to dump their holdings to others.

My conclusion is based on the below facts.

On 28th of Dec 17 LGL has made a corporate disclosure saying the plan to separate out non-gas related subsidiaries from Gas business. The share price was 22.50 at the time of announcement. Then the following day is closed @ 23.50.

On 20th March the company has announced that the resolution for the arrangement has been approved @ the EGM. By then the share price has appreciated to 36.20. On 23rd of March the judgement was delivered and the price was 36.90.

Now from 28th of December to 23rd of March the price appreciation was from 22.50 to 36.90. However the cumulative business result of the LGL was the same. Then what is the rationale for the 64% price rise. It is same as SHL moving from 14 to 26 on the back of rights issue.

As at 31st Dec 17 the NAV of the entire group was 17.64 and was trading at a PBV of 1.3X and it has moved to 2.1X by 23rd March.

We can justify the LGL price movement once the three subsidiaries are separate out but not before. I will post why and how LGL should move after the split but now there is no chance since the inflation has already happened.

My advice is not to depend on reports of broker huts overly but look through the perspective.

Yep, and in this case they were late in releasing this.
Problem was that a very few understood the split of businesses.
Govt not implementing the pricing formula has negatively affected them a lot. If it gets implemented properly, i think those numbers will be possible in MT.
