the president will have the authority in one years time or if UNP has balls after all their talk, they can pass a special resolution and request the Parliament to be dissolved. Question is whether UNP is able to show majority on the next sitting of parliament now that most people want to head back to JO based on this result. Im pretty sure there will be UNP crossover if Ranil is not stepping down after this heavy defeat.

Correct voight.

*President has now completed digging his own grave yard. Now what he should do is step down from the president seat & to move towards the grave yard.

*Prime minister should now given the presidency seat & should appoint mahinda as the prime minister.

*If not president should immediately dissolve the parliament & call for an election.

What ever said & done this is good for CSE. Sometimes we may witnessed a foreign out flow if the rest of the world identify this as a negative development in the country. But for sure local HNWI & funds will now flock to the CSE coz it is almost at the rock bottom levels. You want be able to buy blue chips at these discounted prices couple of days/weeks/months later for sure.

Now we have a clear path to go & the political stability of the country is about to achieve very very soon.

Refer chart....

*Look where we were in 2015 before elections after a painful journey in 2014. Many were expected reforms to happen. Nothing has happened up to now but we were granted the CGT/SGT.

*ASI crashed from 7300 levels to 6572 levels as at last working day again thanks to the foreigners. If not for them think where the ASI would be by now.

*What are the actions this Govt take to safe guard the one & only capital mkt in SL?? The barrow meter of the economy of any country.....

*Hence I'm of the strong view that this is the bottom of CSE & since we have a very clear future ahead in terms of political stability many will rock to the mkt in coming days to purchase shares at these bargain price levels.

*Please treat that this is only my personal opinion.

No one should blame SLPP, because UNP dug its own grave ..... and Ranil is to be blamed ! :)

Sorry the chart should read from 01/01/2015.

And the ASI drop is from high as 7670 to 6572 levels at present.

Yes SHARK

*This is a very good lesson to all of us. Mahinda learnt a good lesson in 2015

*Then president sirisena learnt a very good lesson.

*Ranil learnt a very very good lesson for his entire life. Ranil is to blame here not the sirisena as u correctly said.He has ruined the expectations of all the voters in 2015.

*Mahinda now should experience all these lessons & plan a good thing for all of us.

*If not nothing will happen politically but the country will go from bad to worst....

what MR should do now is, become a sleeping PM and bring Gota to president chair as what sirimawo did in 1994. let gota to run this country in iron fist for 5yers like LKY did in Singapore. clear the underworld,LTTE sympathizers, clear colombo shanties and revamp colombo 1,11,13,15 and 10.stop colombo whole sale mafia, let professionals (with heart to SL) like Nalaka godahewa, dayan jayathilaka to run economy and foreign policy etc.express forward LRT ,elevated highway expansion ,airport expansion and stop giving hands out for while. let local and foreign biz community get confident. let more foreign uni to come in and increase the industry relevant degree intakes increase to 2,3 fold from current. when FDI annal rates hits USD 4-5 bilion per year and tourism hits 4-5 million per year, payment of foreign debit will not be a issue.if go for drastic policy change like RW tried ,our ppl cannot digest it. it should do by slowly with showing the result. like what happend to ppl thinking abt highway system. in 90's and early 2000's ppl protest abt it ...but when E1 built and when tey sow the result ,now ppl protest to built highways. sri lankan society still not mature enough to foresee benefits of changers. they need to experience it to understand it(like what happens by bringing yahapalana).becoz ,ppl here had too meny bad experience for last 3,4 decades. so this is the way forward. ones the system up and run ,ppl will used to it and they will admire it (like what Singaporean do it today ).if we go for too much democratic ,we will never reach there.we will be the same for next 2,3 decades to come.
face the realty...learn from mistakes ...press freedom, democracy ,yahapalana....all are bull shit. if we are 20K --25K usd GDP country all the freedome will automatically will come to us .... without income ...what ever freedome will not last. :-bd :-bd

I dont think Maithri Faction and UNP will easily give in.

Good to hear Susil and 7 others leaving SLFP and siding with SLPP.

We all know what MR and GR are able to do ..... if they were given the power on platter.

SLFP and UNP will use all its resources to put their differences aside, and prosecute the Rogues.

We should not have high hopes based on this election.

The Rulers are veterans in this political game ......

They will control many councils as i said combined.

If you see Good Governance Vote Bank is in-tact by the look of it.

need much more in-depth analysis once all the results are out .....

A roller coaster week can be expected ......

For UNF, they will definitely need a Plastic Surgery for coming 2nd :D

Thats to leave aside RW and should gracefully step down.

Allow Mangala, Navin, Wasantha, Harin, Sajith, Patali, Eran and Harsha to come to the fore.

According to Sri Lanka law neither Gota nor Basil can contest to 2020 Presidential Election because they are citizens of USA so don't live in dreams. MR too can't contest due to 19th amendment.

What we need a fresh set of people to rule this country now. What are the wrongs in characters like Harin, Sajith, Karu, Amaraweera, Buddika like characters.

Any Chances of Extending the Agreement between SLFP/UPFA with UNP :D until 2020.

Because the Reality Check of Maithri in this Election, would have allowed him to strengthen the Bond between UNP.
